What is the best thing about retirement?

I heard how much fun it would be, but with limited mobility, it isn't much fun with the corona virus. So I hope some people can give me some safe activities.

I play disc golf nearly everyday. I have an issue with one of my feet but its not too bad. It keeps me active and slim. I was about 50-60 pounds overweight when I started. Now, I am probably 10-15 pounds underweight. I try to go everyday even though I would not mind putting on 15 pounds. When it gets cold, I might only go 4-5 days a week. Normally, I only miss maybe 5-6 times a month. I usually don't go when I cut the grass that day.

Its SO much less boring than just walking. When I started I would go for 30-45 minutes a day. Now, its 20-25. I get tired sooner now for some reason. Probably heart disease and I could drop dead at any moment. LOL

Dr said to get a stress test but Im not sure it would show anything.

One thing that kind of surprised me was that I did not realize just how much of my life was spent in tense situations because of my responsibility at work.  I am much more relaxed now.  Before the pandemic, I used to go to the supermarkets almost every day, just for something to do.

Pickleball is slow-motion tennis and is a nice activity for two people, especially with a regular partner who you know does not have the virus.

Catch up on all the TV shows and books you'e missed.

    Take an online course.

I do all of the above.  If you have reasonable health and income, retirement is great.

Best thing?   Your time is your own to do with what you please.   No "have to" get up and go to work every day (although you CAN if you WANT TO).
