Is there another way to convert meters per second squared to feet per second squared besides using 3.281?

To convert 9.8 meters/sec^2 to ft/sec^2, I currently have 9.8 meters/sec^2 * 3.281 ft/sec^2 to get 32.15 ft/sec^2. I believe this is the correct answer but I was wondering if there was a way to solve it by actually showing each individual measurement. Thanks

    You are converting metres to feet

    1 metre => 100 cm

    2.54 cm => 1 inch

    and 12 inches => 1 foot

    Hence, 1 foot => 12 x 2.54 = 30.48 cm

    so, 100/30.48 => 3.281 feet

    i.e. 1 metre = 3.281 feet

    Then, 9.8 metres => 9.8 x 3.281 = 32.1538 feet

    i.e. 32.15 feet...to 2 d.p.

    9.8 m/s^2=9.8x1000 cm /s^2 = 9.8x100 cm /s ^2 = 9.8x100/2.54 inch /s^2 =x12) ft/s^2

    9.8x100/(2.54 x12) ft/s^2 =32.15 ft/s^2

    Basically there are 3.281 feet in each meter. The seconds are the same.

    9.8 meters ..... 3.281 feet ... 32.15 feet

    -------------------- * ----------------- ≈ -----------------

    1 sec * 1 sec ... 1 meter ........ meter²

    I suppose you could break it down as 1 m = 100 cm and 1 inch = 2.54 cm and 12 inches = 1 foot

    But that just becomes:

    100 / (2.54 * 12)

    ≈ 3.28084... (ft/m)

    Another option is 1 ft = 0.3048 m, so you could *divide* by 0.3048.

    9.8 (m/s²) / 0.3048 (m/ft)

    ≈ 32.15 ft/s²
