Each number has its own unique significance.
For example, In the Bible, the number 5 is associated with Divine Grace.
Each number represents a deeper meaning that is being conveyed to the reader.

Before written language, Mankind had numbers or symbols for quantity.
This was brought on by commerce and trade perhaps 15,000 years ago. Numbers brought a commonality regardless of what language was spoken.
This fascination with numbers let to Book of Numbers about 800 BCE
Numbers is the most boring and useless book of both Bibles.
