How can i make my accelerator less aggressive?

I have a 2.7L Toyota Hiace van, it is very quick and aggressive in the gas pedal, i barely even touch it and it wants to go, sometimes spins the wheels (RWD), the idle is also quite powerful i can barely ease off the brake and it will drive itself quite well even uphill. Is there any way i can reduce this to make it a bit more controllable? I have some experience with repairing/maintaining cars, so if its easy enough, id like to do it myself. Thanks

Idle screw, add additional spring to throttle....maybe not use air conditioning....

If you have a throttle cable make sure there is some slack in the cable.
