  • Should i trust this gesture?

Over a year ago i asked someone for their number (in a store) , to which they said no. I still go to that store often and sometimes see this person there, theyve served me a few times too since i asked for their number, felt a little awkward for me, but didnt seem to bother them. Now today (April 1st), they gave me their number, actually they got one of their co-workers to hand me a piece of paper with their number on it. What are your thoughts? im a little dubious because of what the date is today, im afraid its some April fools thing.

  • Why do my friendly thoughts seem to deter people? ?

For example, when i meet someone in a store, a worker or stranger, and we greet/make small talk etc. Then i leave and think what a cool/nice/interesting person they were, and look forward to hopefully seeing them again and saying hello- or whatever, even thinking maybe we could wind up being friends. What always ends up happening is that when i see them again, expecting to say Hi, hows it going, they are either not friendly or they arent there at that time. It almost feels like my thoughts directly deter any connection or vibe that i may have felt the time before. Hence why it has been impossible to find any friends (my age) and also to find love. Maybe a little hard to explain, i know workers have a job to do and being nice is part of that, but thats not what i mean. Is there any psychology behind this?

  • Is expanding foam coming out of an electrical socket a hazard for tonight?

I have just sprayed the inside of a wall with expanding foam to insulate it, and hadnt seen the electrical outlet on the other side, now the foam is actually seeping out of the socket. i have unscrewed the outlet plate and left the socket to dangle out of the wall to allow the foam to keep coming out. The outlet wont be used till its all cleaned up/replaced. my question is will it be safe to leave it for tonight untill i can fix it tomorrow?

  • Why does it irritate me when there are multiple people in a silent room?

It feels so awkward and uncomfortable when im in a room with someone else or a few people and its silent, no radio/tv on or talking. If im on my own and its silent in the room, its fine. Is there anything i can do to be more comfortable with it, or is this what most people feel?

  • What is a healthy breakfast drink?

I never eat breakfast, ive always started the day with a drink, used to be coffee, now the last few years its been thick fruit juice. I think its too much sugar, plus it doesnt give me much energy. What can i drink that is fairly low in sugar, must be dairy free and comes already made?  Thanks

  • Should i sell the things i used to call my hobby?

Ive always had a woodworking hobby and i have a lot of tools/machines that i hardly use or cant use for the most part, because where im living is too small and its not my house so i cant make the room or make a mess etc, my previous place i had somewhat of a workshop to use it all and make things, but that was years ago. im a builder/Joiner for my day to day work and i also have a van full of tools as well that i use every day. Im tied between selling the equipment i have in the Garage to make some extra money, or hanging on to it all for when i get my own place one day (some of the tools may come in handy with my job at some point), no doubt i will probably just buy most of the same stuff again one day when i have the space for it all. What would you recommend?

  • Do you have as much chance of meeting a partner going to a store, as you do going to a bar?

Not talking about a grocery store per-se, just emphasising the idea of being "out and about"

  • Whats a good alternative to Chewing gum?

Is there anything else you can use to help keep your teeth clean when on the go? Im a carpenter/remodeller and dont have time or the facility for cleaning my teeth, so i use chewing gum most of the time, but they all contain aspartame which im trying to avoid. Would swishing water around in my mouth be good enough?

  • Is drinking one beer a day bad?

Ive been drinking 1 beer a day for years, its enough for me, i dont get drunk (dont like it). I eat healthy and work hard, is there anything it can lead to long term?  No pedantic unlikely circumstances please.

  • Is it ok to put car in neutral before changing the cars motion (R to D) ?

When going from Reverse to Drive, i know its not good to change gear while the vehicle is still moving, but if you shift to neutral and wait for the car to start moving the other direction before changing, theoretically this should be ok. Is that true? There shouldnt be any wear on the bands and clutch plates as you arent forcing the gear box to move in the other direction by abruptly shifting from Backward to Forward. Any opinions or confirmation would be great.

  • How can i make my accelerator less aggressive?

I have a 2.7L Toyota Hiace van, it is very quick and aggressive in the gas pedal, i barely even touch it and it wants to go, sometimes spins the wheels (RWD), the idle is also quite powerful i can barely ease off the brake and it will drive itself quite well even uphill. Is there any way i can reduce this to make it a bit more controllable? I have some experience with repairing/maintaining cars, so if its easy enough, id like to do it myself. Thanks

  • Whats causing my Transmission to thump?

My transmission does a really aggressive thump/jerk movement whenever i accelerate. It does it mostly when i come off the gas to brake a little (or just coast) and then when i come on the gas again the whole vehicle will suddenly thump as soon as i touch the gas pedal. It will also do it sometimes when changing from R to D, it wont transition smoothly it will just bang into gear. I have had the Motor/transmission mounts checked and the u/joints, drivetrain etc, it all looks fine. Vehicle is a 97 LandCruiser - Prado, diesel Automatic.  Any ideas i would be grateful.
