Do you have as much chance of meeting a partner going to a store, as you do going to a bar?

Not talking about a grocery store per-se, just emphasising the idea of being "out and about"

It is possible. But people are there to shop for groceries unless a magic will happen. You can help a woman get something at the upper shelf if she cannot reach it and only if you are tall  enough. Assist her to carry the grocery bags. You've more chance to meet your soulmate at the bar. Because it is a place for mingling with others.

Not as much as a bar, but it can happen, I met mine in a department store, 25 years ago, and we are together today.

It happens but not as often as meeting at a bar. Two different settings. Bars are to socialize, grocery stores are to grab groceries. You most likely have an agenda going to the grocery store, where more people tend to want to talk at bars.
