It reminds me of this house.
When I bought it, several years ago,
it had several concrete statues
and large concrete birdbaths.
A couple houses away lives my son's family,
which includes my young grandchildren.
I smashed all the concrete yard decorations
and hauled them to the dump.
No death traps for my grand children.

It's hard to say what I think of the article when I haven't read it. Do you have a link? Off hand, I'd say it was probably a garden gnome in disguise.
