How did the Pentagon survive 9/11 but the Twin Towers didn't?

Plus the Pentagon wasn't a skyscraper and it was hit really low, something that would normally destroy a building on impact.

The obvious answer is the Pentagon is a military building where the towers were commercial.

The Pentagon was hit by a missile that made a round hole. There were no wings.

The twin towers were brought down by controlled demolition. You forget the third tower, building seven, which was also demolished that day, but not even hit by a plane.

The Pentagon isn't a skyscraper constructed of materials that a plane would so easily penetrate and that would fail in the heat generated by burning aviation fuel.

The structure of the Pentagon wasn't wired with explosives
