Are you a fan of the way MLB set up the playoffs? Do you think they should continue an 8 team playoffs in a 154 game season?

I have to say I like an 8 team playoffs, but I'm not a fan of the top two teams of a division getting a guaranteed spot, and then the next two best record teams getting the 7th and 8th seeds. To me, they should do the division winners and then the 5 teams with the best records, regardless of division. If I were a fan of Cleveland or even Toronto, I wouldn't like it if Houston ended up in the playoffs with a worse record than my my teams.

Update:

162 games..ugh..can't believe it's only been 1 season and I can't get the number of games correct...(must be tired) i kind of agree with that too many playoff teams if there are 162 games...they should sort out the good from the mediocre down to a winner take all WC game and the division leaders by then...would eliminate the drama of a pennant race even more than has been done already...thumbs up for that and correctly reminding of how long a season is.

No way, 16 teams is way too many, that's half the teams, there is no point in playing 162 games just for half the teams to get in the playoffs.

The way it is or was before this fluke season is fine, Division winners get it along with two wildcards who fight for the last spot.

154 wouldn't bother me, as it used to be the standard. Letting in practically everyone to the postseason would make a mockery of the regular seasons significance. To be the best, day in day out, with all the injuries and travel, is an achievement. That shouldn't change.

MLB is not going back to 154 games. That went out in 1961. MLB is a Business. Walter O’Malley told us that in 1957 when he moved the Dodgers. The 2020 Postseason is just for this year.

I would keep the 162 games for the rest of my life and 16 playoff teams or relocation playoffs depending on the better teams.

Not particularly, but this is a good year to experiment with the format.

The fewer the playoff teams the better.

If they want to keep this format they will have to shorten the season length somehow.  The only reason they can get away with this many rounds of playoffs this year is there are no travel days.  If you put the travel days back in, as they would next year, these playoffs won't end until mid-November at the earliest.  You can;t play baseball in mid-November in most parts of the country.  So I don't think this will happen.
