You can't start a nonprofit with zero money, it isn't a thing that happens unless you go asking for money and fundraising yourself. You need to pay the IRS and follow the instructions listed online (https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/life-cyc... See the source listed below. However, once you get started, there are plenty of ways to raise money online. When you get to the point that you start your own non-profit and have done a few successful fundraisers. Get in contact with some fundraising consultants for non-profits and see what you can get going.

Take a look at Butterflyly in case you are curious about learning more about fundraising.

I have been a volunteer, staff, manager, board member, board president, consultant, and lobbyist for nonprofits for 38 years.

I have created nonprofits for clients.

    There is no such thing.

You think you can just collect & keep money by calling it a nonprofit? Thats a crime.

I've started one and it is not all that cheap. You have to file paperwork with the IRS. That USUALLY requires a lawyer, although I fought through the red tape myself. You also have to post announcement in the local paper(s). IDK what the IRS fee is now; the last I heard it was $600.

Audrey, there is no way to start a non-profit or any other business with no money.  At the very least you will need enough money to obtain internet access for long enough to file the paperwork to form a 501-c.

I mean, you can panhandle to get money...but that is still costing you time.

See if you can locate a used copy of How to Create Fund And Start Your Own Business.  Try the library.  READ that book.  Follow the instructions
