How do you write a novel in an early 1900s voice?

Any tips and trick pages or great examples of third person books/snippets that emulate that WWI era voice would be great. I don't really know if I'm doing it right or if it sounds authentic at all. Thanks for the help.

It wont sound authentic because that's not how people write anymore and it's not a requested style for most modern audiences.

Read what Elaine wrote until you believe it's the best way to do it.

No, reading more recent books set at that time won't do it. Nor will watching movies set then. If you want authenticity, you have to get cozy with appropriate source materials, including for style, tone, vocabulary, social attitudes, everything.

You'd be wise to also read newspapers of the era.

Begin by reading novels that were published during the time frame you are interested in. They will give a good idea.
