How did Trump give up a life of luxury? He still vacations almost every weekend at one of his properties. He golfs incessantly. He watches TV for several hours a day.
And how has Biden given up his country for a life of luxury? Biden's not rich like Trum is, but he's a millionaire. He could have had a nice life living on his cushy income and sitting back at his Delaware compound. He decided to run for President instead.
What Trump's tax returns seem to show us is the exact opposite. Trump, as many people suspected, probably ran for President not out of a desire to serve but out of financial necessity. You see, Trump's core businesses have been losing tens of millions of dollars of money. The Apprentice, and the resulting endorsement deals, were keeping him afloat. But that money was drying up. Worse yet, he was facing as much as a $100 million tax bill from the IRS because of a large deduction he had illegally claimed years ago. This threatened his finances in a big way. Trump needed to find a way to become relevant again. Running for president fit the bill. Trump, as numerous insiders have already told us, never intended to win. What he wanted was to burnish his brand by getting himself some more attention. Then he could cut some licensing deals and keep his finances afloat for a few more years. As it turned out, Trump ended up winning. And as President he's been scamming millions of dollars out of the federal government and others. For example, every time he stays overnight at one of his properties the government has to pay to put up Secret Service agents and white house staffers. At his club in Bedminster he's charging the Secret Service more than twice the going rate to rent a bungalow on the property. They've also charged them for golf cart rentals and other incidental fees. And that's just the direct government looting. He's also getting money from people who are essentially bribing him to secure favorable treatment. For example, when T-Mobile needed government approval for a proposed merger, they spent almost $200,000 on rooms at the Trump DC hotel. And that's just one particularly well documented examples. There's lots of companies, individuals, lobbying groups, and even foreign governments who have tried to bribe Trump by patronizing his businesses. Part of the reason Trump wants to be reelected is because once he leaves office all of that bribery money dries up and his companies lose a major life line. He's got over $400 million in loans coming due in what would be his second term. He's got, at most, about a quarter of that in cash on hand. So how does he pay it back? If he's President then maybe he can trade official favors in exchange for cash. If he's just private citizen Donald Trump then he's screwed.

Trump has never and will never know a life without luxury. The white house is luxury and he spends half his time at his private golf club.

And Biden.. so Biden—a public official for 50 years.. starting when he was 28—not only gave up his country, but only making the second highest office in the nation lives a life of luxury. ???

Lol. Trump did, did he? Then why doesn't he actually do something GOOD for his country? Does he think being number one in Covid cases and personally spreading it around to people (He's infected many in the White House) is making America great?
