Distance learning vs traditional model?

Hello, I have a 2nd grade child who is currently doing distance learning. His district has sent us a survey of two choices and I would like to hear your opinions and which one you would pick if it was you.

First choice - full time distance learning meaning he can potentially & I believe most likely will get re-assigned to another teacher. I like this choice because of the consistency it will have without worrying school closing down for 14 days because someone had close contact to covid etc.,

Second choice - 2x a week my child goes to school full day and the other three days would be remotely from home which seems like we will get work from teacher to do those 3 days. I like this choice because my son will get to socialize with other students.

Which choice would you pick and why? Thanks!

99% of students and teachers are against distance learning, but agree it's necessary during this pandemic.

Both my children are full time in-person students.  About 50% of a young child's education consists of social skills and interactions.  An elementary school student cannot learn on a laptop in the dining room alone.
