this is in the print menu of the program doing the printing, not in the printer controls

It will, you just need to give it the right settings. In printer preferences look for something like scaling 100% or disable fit to paper or something along those lines. The paper size must ultimately be big enough to fit a full size image

With no clues from you what image is being "shown on the computer", like screen size, full, partial preview, color (when printer is monochrome), etc., no guessing.
Did you do some printer settings first?
