2 Peter 3:9 Jehovah is not slow concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.

Romans 2:4 Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, because you do not know that God in his kindness is trying to lead you to repentance?

God knows that before he can provide righteous humans with a secure and prosperous home, he will have to “bring to ruin those ruining the earth.” (Revelation 11:18) However, because he loves humans, Jehovah “does not desire any to be destroyed.” Consequently, our heavenly Father has been patiently trying “to warn the wicked one from his wicked way.” To that end, Jehovah is having the message about his Kingdom preached worldwide. (Ezekiel 3:17, 18) All who respond favorably to God’s warning and bring their life into harmony with his righteous principles will be granted salvation and enjoy everlasting life on a paradise earth.

Hint: He sent HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON to die for YOUR SINS!

John 15:13 KJV — Greater love hath no one than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

John 3:16-17 — For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Seems that the god thingie is always wanting people to admire and pray to him for even a little food each day.  When he eliminates starvation worldwide people might think a little better about his arrogance.

I was once in a cruel abusive marriage, with 3 kids, I couldn't see a way out. So, (!!!) I prayed with all my heart for a lotto win, so I'd have the money to leave. I was disappointed when it didn't happen, but still accepted it was God's will. A few years later, I found a job, where I met so many nice people who showed me I wasn't the stupid bit*h my husband had (nearly) convinced me I was . . .  A few years later, I finally found the strength to leave him. Years after that, it dawned on me that if I had won the lotto, I would never have left my husband because he would have manipulated me so well, while he drained me of all my winnings. He was very good at manipulating me. That was when I realised that God had in fact done me a big favour by not giving me that win! That was when I accepted that God really does know what He's doing - we don't always get what we want - because He has something better for us down the way!! Many people refuse to acknowledge that - it's all 'me, me, me - NOW' - like spoilt brats and so turn on God. We will never understand why some things happen (that aren't caused by us!!), but we have faith and belief that God still loves us, and is watching out for us.

If he is cruel - then he isn't "God"

    Remember - that's a title, not a proper name.

So by definition "God" is the title given to the creator of the Universe, the definition of love, mercy, justice, and who is perfect and eternal.

By definition and classic Theology - He is the greatest conceivable being that we can imagine.

A 'cruel God' is NOT the greatest conceivable, because we can conceive of an even GREATER being that is all that, but instead of cruel - is kind and merciful.

He is not merely the 'most merciful' or the 'most loving' - but the SOURCE of these things. That makes him fundamentally different than a supposed 'cruel god'

So IF you hypothesize that God is 'cruel' then what you've really done is create a really really powerful being that is NOT actually thee God of the Universe, but a subset. - like a demigod.

Closer to an ancient Greek or Pagan conception of a minor god.

A being that IS PART of the Universe - not metaphysically separate.

You've essentially departed from Theology (the study of God) and created your own little religion with an imperfect god.

The Bible says: "For all his ways are justice.A God of faithfulnessc who is never unjust righteous and upright is he."  (Deuteronomy 32:4)  God is fair and impartial in everything he does. God also knows the best way to heal mankind’s suffering. By contrast, human solutions can be compared to putting a bandage on a gunshot wound. While the bandage might mask the problem, it does little to address the underlying issue and even less to end the suffering of the victim.

God feels compassion for humans who suffer. When the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt and mistreated by their captors, God told Moses: “Unquestionably I have seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their outcry as a result of those who drive them to work; because I well know the pains they suffer.” (Exodus 3:7) It indicates that God does not look upon human suffering with indifference. On the contrary, centuries later the prophet Isaiah wrote regarding the Israelites: “During all their distress it was distressing to him.”—Isaiah 63:9.

There is a reason why the humanity suffers today and why God allows it to be as is. If you'd like learn answers to these questions, you can either visit jw.org and type “Suffering” into the search bar at the top, or you can visit the link below.

"It" is largely indifferent on a "day to day" basis (check scripture on time dilation), but sometimes God get's really ticked about specific things. The golden rule should read, "Do unto others, or God will undo you."

You Michael, if you haven’t met and put your faith in Jesus yet, you remain God’s enemy.

Crushed by the weight of your sins?

    Guilt eating you alive?

Your life looks like fun but feels like death?

All that will go away, and you will have treasure stored up in heaven, if you change your ways and go to Jesus for mercy.

He turns no one away who is repentant and contrite in heart.

Stop trying to be your own god. There is only one God and you’re not Him.

God wants to talk to you.

    .

Will you steal and murder, commit adultery and perjury, a burn incense to idols and follow other gods you have not known, and then come and stand before me in this house, which bears my Name, and say, “We are safe”—safe to do all these detestable things?

    .

Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the Lord.

    .

While you were doing all these things, I spoke to you again and again, but you did not listen; I called you, but you did not answer.

    .

Therefore, I will thrust you from my presence, just as I did all your fellow Israelites, the people of Ephraim.

    .

Seek mercy today. He may still relent. If you don’t, things will keep getting worse and worse.

if you care only about yourself God doesn't love you as much as He can. He is giving you food and home and waiting for you when you will change your mind and you become a real Christian

Cruel? All He wants for is that we enjoy perfect happiness with Him in Heaven forever. How is that cruel?
