    Not at all.

Believeth:  "Vail" is a city in Colorado, genius.

The "Vail" is the inability to see and understand the truth of God's Word.

By turning to the Lord Jesus Christ that "Vail" is removed and the Word can be understood. This is always true and is not "outdated".

2 Corinthians 3:16 “Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.”

There's in ancient holy books that do not sound outdated.

It is as current as this prophecy:

"For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.” (1 Corinthians 1:19)

That chapter is difficult to understand for most people today; it's a chapter that begs for interpretation, which is generally not available and often misinterpreted. On your specific question, the analogy is difficult to identify with today.
