True or false: Saying China virus is racist...?

Considering it originated in an area of China where many influenza, corona and rhino (common cold) viruses are known to originate -and considering this one area is such a well known source of animal to human virus spread that the WHO decided to center virus research in that area of China -and this is just the latest version of SARS type corona viruses that all come the same area of China - not sure how it can be considered racist when it's true. The wet markets of Wuhan have been an animal to human virus transfer point for centuries yet no one has the balls to shut it down. And when the world is suddenly aware of this area's deadly potential we are told that to mention the virus's true origin is racist and it's racist and xenophobic to want the source shut down? If saving millions of lives now and in the future by shutting down the wet markets of Wuhan is xenophobic then call me a xenophobe. Too many lives are at stake to politically correct this.

False. It came from China. CHI-NA!

Xenophobic is probably more appropriate as Chinese isn't a race. There have been many instances of attacks against Chinese people and people of East Asian descent because of this pandemic, however, so it's really not a good idea to use that phrase to refer to COVID-19 any way you look at it.

It absolutely is, and that's part of why Trump says that. He knows his racists fans love it when he says it and, it's a diversion away from the fact that he lied and downplayed the dangers resulting in the deaths of thousands of Americans
