Soccer is a great girls' sport.

Are you referring to that game with the round black and white ball?  The one where grown men, profession athletes, at the lightest bit of contact, fall to the ground and weep?  And when not crying about imagined contact, they jog around pointlessly for 3 hours while nothing happens?

Have you played American football? Yes you have the padding, but it still freaking hurts. I played rugby and while you are used to taking hits, you don't get hit from all directions at full force. The padding is deceiving. Much like a boxing glove, it's there to protect the hitter as much as the guy being hit. It allows people to really go for you. Honestly both Rugby and Gridiron have their merits. American football players would struggle to cope with the endurance required in Rugby. Rugby players would struggle with the intensity of an American football game.
