Yahoo Mail Drafts Folder?

I have just noticed that Yahoo Mail has been storing emails in  my Drafts folder going back several years, most of which I am not aware of having saved in the first place. The file size is huge. Does this happen by default and can I stop it happening (except when I do deliberately want to "draft" some text)?

    Drafts are automatically saved in that folder until you sent them. If they are still being saved there after sending it is a mail glitch.
