Yes, Lockdowns that stop shops from opening and earning any money will cause closures.

The businesses in my area that have permanently closed were on their last legs anyway.
One shop...the lady had already told her customers that 2020 was the last year...so she just moved it up to April.
However...and this is VERY INTERESTING...I have seen a lot of the vacant storefront space around here getting rented out. It is almost as if more businesses are starting than closing. Some of this space has been vacant for 6 years or more.

Millions of Americans are wrong. An adequate lockdown would get the virus under control so businesses could reopen safely and the closures would not be permanent. The reasons that businesses have to close permanently is that we did not lock down enough. However, with no lock down, even more businesses might have closed permanently, because too many employees, customers, or both, would be either sick or dead.

In some cases, the business was close to closing anyway. But in others, the business was fairly solid before covid.
