Christmas is now drawing near! What's your favorite Christmas songs?

By the way, I like "All I Want For Christmas Is you" by Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber.

"Please Daddy Don't Come Home Drunk for Christmas" by John Denver. It describes my childhood Christmas'. The worst 3 were the 3 years the police were called when my parents, both alcoholics, would start fighting. We got few gifts if any and I always knew I was missing out and cried much of the day. I would make up gifts I had gotten and fun things I had gotten to do when I got back to school so I would fit in. In the inside I was crying. Finally I was taken away at age 14 by CPS and my parents never bothered to look for me again. I see they are still living though separated when I searched them on-line. I am 24 now. I hate the holidays because of the memories and yet when I was taken I stayed just as sad in foster care at Christmas' as I felt I had lost something in losing my parents who actually never parented me but just abused me and my 4 siblings. Two of them weren't even my Dad's children and I sometimes question if I was as he raped me many times (went to jail for it when I was taken away) and I would think he would only have done it to the kids that were not his. My father lives in jail now and I frequently hope he will contact me with remorse but he never has and he has a 41 year sentence. He never expressed any remorse in court and blamed it on "my wife was an alcoholic" or "I never had a father as a child".

So because of all that "Please Daddy Don't Come Home Drunk for Christmas" by John Denver is my favorite Christmas Carol because it reveals the truth that for many people Christmas is not a joy filled time but a time of agony and violence.
