First off, I don't think the charge of being petty really is a valid one coming from someone like Trump who was essentially throwing a temper tantrum about losing the election. New paragraph. There's other issues. Yes, this is a rather minor thing, but certainly it says something that the presentation of this press conference was rather sad one. They could have done something else. They could have used another desk for Trump sit behind. But, as one person on Twitter pointed out, the staging had less to do with the desk and more to do with what was around it. President George HW Bush use the exact same desk when he signed into law the Americans with Disabilities Act. That photo op looked appropriately presidential because he was surrounded by a whole bunch of people who had maybe act possible into it would help. One of the things which made this appearance so pathetic looking was that Trump was a loan behind a tiny desk in a large room. It highlighted how diminished he has become since his loss

The WH has lots of furniture and plenty of people to move it.  Face it Trump is a fool and he looked foolish. Why a desk anyway? A lectern is much more common for addresses to the press .
