    Here's a simple and clear paraphrase: "I didn't say I'd help. You said I'd help."

    You made the offer in my name without my agreement, so do not pretend that I offered of my own volition.  I did not volunteer.  You offered my services without asking me.  And that is what it means, in three simple words: you "volunteered" me.

    A, without your agreement, must have told the garage owner that you would help to tidy up the garage.   Imagine someone in class held your arm up to answer a maths question, they would have volunteered you.

    "You told me / ordered me / made me / do it."  Mr. We is the one that said U would do it. U never said yes or no to the idea / request.
