Am I Stuck With Having To Pay For A New Title ?
I paid my car off two months ago and when I did, I called the finance company to make sure they had the correct address to send the title to (which was the same address they were sending all my bills). I confirmed they had the right address. They claimed they mailed the title on Oct. 23 to an address in a different state that I haven't lived at or received mail at in over 3 years. Now they're telling me they don't mail out duplicates and if I want my titile, I'll have to pay for one.
My fear is that it will get in the wrong hands. At this point would it be in my best interest to just pay for another one or continue going back and forth with the car company in hopes they'll send me out another one?

Just politely ask them to correct their obvious error and mail you a new title. Ask to speak to a supervisor. If they decline, advise them that you will sue them in the small claims court. Then do so if necessary.

A lot of information missing. Like which state you bought and financed it in. What state are you in now?
I've ONLY financed 2 pickups in my life. Both times I got the title with a lienholder listed. Once I paid off I got a clearance from the finance company. Decided to get the holder off my title. Secretary of State told me just to give it w/title when I sold it.
