You have the potential for what you were educated in, whatever degrees/certifications you earned/accomplished.  To me, well paying would be about $150k+.  A little less would be considered decent.  Much less, not anything to write home about.  Horrible - horrible.  At the other end, above $150k to about $350k would be a very good income.  $400k+ - really good.  $750k+ a high earner.

"Well paying job" has no specific definition.

Generally speaking, to get paid more, you must have experience, expertise, education or some combination of those.
