i'm a pop rock/electropop vocalist. should i dedicate practice time to easy songs and master them or should i tougher songs?
I'm not sure if I should just focus my time on singing songs I can comfortably sing with ease, and focusing on really nailing it, or practicing songs that have high notes and take a bigger toll on my voice. I don't know if I don't need to be a well-rounded vocalist in order to be successful. If so, then I can just master what I'm comfortable with instead of putting in so much more effort to hit high notes as I have trouble with them. Thanks (25/M, I consider "high" notes are belted G4's and above).

Why do you have to choose? Sing the easy songs when you feel like singing something easy, and sing the challenging songs when you feel like working on your craft and extending yourself. There's no reason why you can't do both. When I practice my instruments, I usually start with easy stuff, and then work my way up to difficult things.

Challenge yourself to be a better singer, but don't hurt yourself in the process.
