NFL fans: Do you think Matthew Stafford will ever get elected to the Hall of Fame?
I'm sure it won't happen on the first ballot, unless the Lions somehow stumble into a Super Bowl win. He has put up some decent numbers, though.

Not likely. You'd have to put in half the league if you put him in. He's racked up numbers, but so has everyone else. How many Hall of Famers can be playing in the same era?

well since he joined the lions he has not had a head coach, no running game, no offensive line, the lions have had no defense, the opposing team knows that all they have to do is stop the passing game and there's a good chance they will win, but they couldn't stop Stafford. the numbers he put up on such a shitty lions team warrants him a place in the hall of fame.

No he's a decent QB but no leader and hasn't won anything, who would you think he should be..

With his paid admission, just like the rest of us. Football Reference shows the average for an HOF quarterback at 101 points. Stafford is at 45. He has some decent numbers in a pass-happy era. He has a dismal postseason history, making the playoffs only 25% of the time (3 in 12 seasons) and one and done each time (0-3 record).

he shouldn't he's overrated...

No. All he has going for him is throwing yards. Doesn't have the wins, only one probowl, only 3 playoff appearances and hasn't won a game in the playoffs at all.

I wouldn't.
I think you have to compare guys to their era-peers. Stafford is up against Brady, Manning, Brees and Rodgers to start with. Those are first-ballot guys. Then you have to start ranking him against Russell Wilson, Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, Tony Romo, Rivers, and Roethlisberger. I think Stafford is better than probably none of them. I would have to compare Stafford to each in detail to be sure, but my shoot-from-the-hip opinion is that I wouldn't rank Stafford above any of them.
How many QBs from this era are you going to stuff into the HoF? I don't think all of the above names belong in...and I don't think Stafford is above any of them.
