Can I be a good teacher or work with kids if I do not have an authoritative personality? ?

I’m very chill and act like a friend instead of an authority figure. Could I work with kids if my personality is like this? In what type of setting? Can my personality become more authoritative with practice if needed and how?

Children need all types of personality, just make sure you pick a class to teach that allows for the flexibility you bring to the table.  You can certainly not be a good assistant principal, lol.

You could teach the small/young kids.  I would stay away from teenagers, they can be rather rough on a teacher.

Nothing wrong with your personality. After a few weeks with the kids, you will be yelling and screaming and pulling your hair out. Kids in the classrooms can make the worst come out of you.

No problem. You'll start changing on your first day in a classful of brats.
