Why did Wait switch to cheap plastic parts in their new 1000 furnace humidifiers.?
I recently installed a WAIT 1000 furnace humidifier. That is the third one in 40 years. The previous ones were all Metal boxes with a drum type Humidifier pad.
They all worked great for years with out any problems. After I purchased the latest one it was a great dissapointment. Cheap plastic parts that had stress cracks right out of the box. Both side panels and water tray had cracks in them. And after mounting them they did not stay square but bent all over. I finally got it mounted when I realized you had to screw the watertray into the sidepanels.Which makes it awkward if you want to clean the tray. I doubt it very much the designer ever installed his creation on more than one operating furnace. What happened to Proudly made in Amerika and Canada. If one produces junk do not be surpriced if the competions market share goes up and you are trailing behind and lose.
