These are 3 out of 40 to 50 factors in the natal chart. And the aspects between the 10 planets (the Rising Sign is not a planet) are THE most important determinator of how the person works with their internal psychological dynamics.

Planets are our needs.  10 "planets", 10 different inner needs, different facets of our personality.

HOW we try to meet those needs - the style of behaviors we employ for this - is shown by the Sign each planet is in.  But whether or not we find it easy of difficult to meet those needs, whether or not we express the positive or negative style of that planet's Sign, whether or not we make our life or easy regarding that particular need .. depends NOT on the Sign but on:

(1) How that particular planets interacts with ("aspects") any OTHER planets in the natal chart. Aspects occur when any two planets are at some particular distance from each other in the chart .. around the circle of the ecliptic/zodiac .. and some distances create inner discord and some create inner harmony between the two needs.  We ALWAYS look at the aspects BEFORE we consider the Signs.

(2) How self-aware we have become and how much we have reshaped how we respond.  Astrology does not control us. It is only an influence ... a "starting point".  It is how we will likely be if we do nothing to change or grow ... and we all have the potential to change or grow.e

Understand that a competent astrology cannot say anything without seeing the natal chart .. that circular map drawn up in symbols, numbers and lines (and NOT a written list). And while they understand the theory, YOU understand how YOU react, so ALL readings are oral .. done in person, over the phone or over the internet. Always a 2-way conversation that takes at least an hour.

Note: The Rising Sign is the First House ... whatever Sign was rising over the Eastern horizon at the moment you were born, as seen from the latitude of your birthplace. And the exact degree of the Rising Sign is the start of your First House and called the Ascendant.  Because it is not a planet, it is not part of your true inner personality. It is only the behaviors you hide behind when in a social situation and not comfortable .. the more uncomfortable you are, the more you act like that Sign and as you become comfortable, those behaviors drop away and your true personality (your planets) start to show up.  So it is not very important, but the less self-aware we are, the more we identify with our superificial social mask (our Ascendant/Rising Sign).
