Since Pence's pardon would have no effect on state court proceedings, it's pretty useless to Trump. He realizes that and considered fleeing the country while he still has presidential immunity. Now that Scotland has ruled against letting him in, he'll have to look for someplace else to run. Like maybe Russia or Saudi Arabia. Since Trump always acts in his best interests, you might think he has considered that, by running away, he forfeits all right to the respect of any Americans, but at this point that's the better of the choices he has.
