Which country was the last one to control what everyone had access to?  for example, canceling their ability to speak to the General Public?

The 1st Amendment doesn't protect incitement to public disorder.  So, Trump lost his privilege to be heard.  

Many countries are still like this. Try exercising your "free speech rights" in Turkmenistan or North Korea. 

Trump can still speak to the general public, he just can't use certain websites to do it.  He can select another one or start his own.
