DO you agree with AOC that rightwing sites that spread misinformation need to be dealt with?

Censorship is a two edged sword, if the government has the power to ban sites, how many sites would Trump have banned over the last four years with claims they spread misinformation.  Once online sites can be banned then how much easier would it be for someone like Trump to have moved on to banning organisations and goodness knows what else.

Plus it makes it easier for the FBI etc to track and catch those who incite and plan violence if they are on public sites.  As happened with ISIS they ended up using encrypted messaging and were far harder to monitor and track.

So why I personally think it is wonderful that Trump has been silenced, messing with censorship laws is a dangerous thing to do.  I suppose it depends on what if any laws are proposed but even as an admirer of AOC, until I know what exactly she is proposing I am very sceptical.

People need to grow a brain so they recognize BS when they smell it, even if it's BS they'd *like* to smell.

For instance, YOU like to smell Miss Cortez's fierce "we're all gonna be equal!" New Communist babble.

One lesson to remember, all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.

You are given certain rights via the US Constitution..don't be so quick to give them away just because you'd like to deprive others of theirs.

THEY..on the other hand, just want Trump to get a second term.  (God knows why)  They are willing to demonize you, your party, and Joe Biden as whipping guys (and gals) for the fact that he lost.

Deep down, they KNOW he lost, and the conspiracy theories, etc, are just an excuse for  behavior bordering on treasonous.

Btw..if the Democrats would toss the anti Constitutional BS and stop trying to talk down to everyone who doesn't agree with them, they would actually become the Party of Choice in the US.

You think you won because you are the "majority."  You're not.

All the swing voters came to their senses about Trump after they got a good taste of him.

Biden was elected because he was the lesser of two evils.  You won  the Georgia run-off because McConnell decided that helping out corporate America in case they get sued by Covid victim's families was more important that directly helping The American People.

Misinformation on a sensitive topic is dangerously ignorant, but squelching free speech is worse.

Just about every police organization in the USA issued a statement denouncing the officers' conduct in the George Floyd arrest within four days of his death...

Yet night after night we turned on the pop-media and heard nothing but anger over "systemic" problems and people screaming about victims and victimizers as if those were the only sides involved...

How'd that work out for the country.....?
