How to brighten up a video?

Hi guys I'm working on a video project. I received some footage that are too dark to put on my project, how can I brighten these videos?

    Most video editors can do this.  @spacemissing's right - you'll probably need to strike a balance between brightening the image and keeping the noise down.

    A video processor, either standalone or software-based, will be needed.    

    Increase the luminance, but don't push it hard enough to cause visible noise.
