I am getting a 1979 firebird project and i was wondering if some of the base models ever had rear wings or not?

    No, if you look at the pics of that car they just had lip spoilers. But the Aftermarket has all sorts of wings and different spoilers.

    There was a mid level trim called Formula that could be optioned with everything the  TA had. only with less gouache exterior decoration,
