Small business insurance?
In November of 2020 i incorporated myself here in Chicago as Midwest Power and Light, Inc. (I do residential electrical work and a contractor for larger lighting companies)
My question is what are some decently priced liability insurance?? Again my business is new and I don’t always have work available. I would also need the workers i subcontract under my company to also be covered under my business insurance .

Why ask on Yahoo when google will give you about 50 Insurance companies licensed in your State. Unless someone on tis site intimately knows your personal business parameters and risks, you cannot get a good answer on a site like this. YOU have to talk to several different companies licensed in your area so they can explore what coverages you are legally required to have and which other insurance policies you need to have for your own protection.
You are in Chicago and have opened a business? hahahaha good luck between insurance liabilities and taxes and fee's required by the government in Chicago and the State of Illinois, you are going to be paying a fortune every month.

There are a LOT of very good insurance companies out there. Your payment amount, though, will be affected by many factors. Most companies that quote you will be close to the same price.
I would suggest that you ask the companies you work for..."What Business Insurance Company do You PREFER that I have? What Insurance Company do you feel is the best?"
After that ...get quotes from Accord, CNA, Selective and any reliable local companies you know of.
Note that your subcontractors will need to carry their own liability insurance...either that or you will have to make hem employees so they are covered on your policy.

You find an independent insurance agent that handles commercial insurance and that represents several insurance companies, and you ask the agent to get you as good a deal as possible.
You need general liability insurance, workers compensation insurance, and inland marine insurance that covers your business property. Probably auto insurance.
If you are unfamiliar with hold harmess agreements, meet with your lawyer and have him or her write some for you.

No one can possibly guess what the cost of liability insurance will be for you.
You will have to contact companies to get quotes for your specific situation.
