What do you think about channelling spirits? How can you tell if your experience is genuine or if you are just imagining it? ?

Gary, you are a great laugh but sadly, that is all. You won't work, you sit in your bedroom all day, you lie through the teeth, you have NEVER been to a seance or spiritualist church and have no clue as to what channelling spirits is or what it entails.I am so glad that you are here handing out your crap than giving advice on driving in the motoring section or there would be bodies all over the place. You silly sad child. Face facts, Even your opinions are plagiarised from the internet. Stop lecturing about things you have no understanding of. There are people who have given their lives to this and are witnesses to things you could not imagine. So stop sitting there stinking with your silly little computer thinking you know it all.

Look for outside verification.  Anyone can do the "Channeling spirits" exercise.  if it is really happening, there would be some sort of verification.---- Perhaps in historic records, you have never seen, or an event that is predicted by whatever it is you are channeling.

Here is one rule to use:

If you think you are talking to spirits, you are imagining it. 

The simple answer is to research the facts that you are given. If the information matches the facts then you have a good correlation and can't be imagining it. 

It is more conclusive if the evidence you gain by this method seems unlikely, as there is less chance of it being accidentally correct.

For example - seeing a woman selling fish in a street in 1800 and it being historically correct, but as it is near the docks then the chances of it being accidentally correct is high. But seeing a dentist pulling teeth in a building in 1850, and finding tax records that the building was a dentists in 1850, and only 6 dentists were practicing in the town at that date, it is much less likely to be accidentally correct, and would be harder to accidentally imagine the true facts.

This happened to me and I was surprised to find the true facts matched what I experienced. 

These "spirits" never seem to know anything useful.  A medium could ask a spirit for information that no one knows yet.  For example, they could summon the ghost of a person who is missing and assumed dead, and ask them where the body is.  If you find the body, then you know the medium is for real.  Or summon the ghost of an unidentified body and ask them who they are.  Then confirm it with DNA. But they don't do this, because they can't.

If there is such a thing (and that's a big IF) it would take somebody with an extremely rare gift to do it. Parapsychology gave up on this a long time ago. There are so many phony mediums that the subject has become embarrassing. Also, interest has shifted to near-death experience, which HAS been studied under laboratory conditions (hospital ER and OR). If you're interested, you can read Gardner Murphy, who was president of the American Psychological Association. He wrote a book on parapsychology and edited the writings of philosopher/psychologist William James. Not a load of evidence for channeling.

Many of these so-called "channelers" have been exposed as frauds. Unfortunately, it isn't illegal to pretend to channel an ancient spirit. So, many of these phonies have swindled thousands of dollars from their gullible followers. The most successful scam artist channelers are worth millions of dollars.

It takes you, you know, like a force, it’s not your words, or your mannerisms. Like I’ve said before, to have the spirit talk takes a certain amount of your energy. My face hurts after a while, and I’ll have to stop.
