    Angela Merkel?

    Both she and her husband are quantum chemists.  That is, she was one before she went into politics. He was a quantum chemist and professor of physical and theoretical chemistry before his retirement from academia.

    "Is"? No, that would be her first husband. 

    Her current husband IS a quantum chemist. 

    He is also professor emeritus of physical 

    and theoretical chemistry at the Humboldt 

    University of Berlin.
