How can anyone think trump doesn’t deserve to be impeached and found guilty in the senate?
There is no denying the facts. The president told a crowd of his supporters to go to the Capitol Building and attempt to interfere with the certification of the election. End of story. At best trump is guilty of gross negligence and abuse of his authority as president. At worst trump is guilty of an attempted coup and inciting a riot against the American government. Any other things at play in this case are irrelevant. trump involved himself in the events that unfolded after his intentionally timed rally. trump is legally accountable and should be found guilty of inciting violence.
First, until trump I was a moderate Republican. Second, this has nothing to do with hillary. Third, the left won’t let this go? To this day trump still wants hillary to be charged with something. Fourth, the president of the United States incited a mob to violence and people were killed. Should we just ignore that?
Justin...that is either you being an azz and ignoring the facts. Or you are delusional.
Dan... what do you mean no one else reacted? If they weren’t there how would they react? The crowd at the rally were the only people in place to react. The media did start talking about trumps calling on the crowd to take action and Rudy Giulianis stirring them up while the rally was going on. Many outlets said the speeches sounded like a call to arms. And all outlets were replaying those parts of the rally during the ensuing riot. The Capitol police were unprepared? How do you prepare for 2000
in advance? And speaking in a secret code? Watch the video. The words spoken were “go to the Capitol Building and stop the steal” , a direct command. “If you don’t we will lose America”, saying that they were being forced to act. “Be brave. We can’t be weak. We must act and do so without fear.”, how else do you interpret that? Where does that sound like “be peaceful. Listen to the police commands. Don’t break the law”? Stop trying to act like this was just a normal speech by a president.

He broke the law. Incited and its still going on. They tore that beautiful monument up, they used the bathroom on the floors and smeared the walls with it. These are facts, dispute all you like. He is a shame to the American Flag they all claim to love. If Obama and black people had done just a small thing of what they did You would scream bloody murder.

The rioters were assembling outside The Capitol before Trump's speech even began. They arrived in buses.

Saying resist or rise up can mean different thing to different people. So you have to look at the context. When I was in school there was comprehesive thought, critical thinking efforts for good reason.
If I tell a rapist to "go get her", what will happen? If I tell a love struck teenager to "go get her" what will happen? What if that teenager is a rapist and I don't know this?
I would never support the BLM rioting. I would support the BLM going to the capital protesting. Did we know their protests would become the chaos? Why was protesting in the wrong location supported? Should they not interfere at the capitol? Isn't that exactly what is suppose to happen in a democracy, a free land?
Maxine Waters said, "Let's make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere".
Maxine didn't actually call for anyone to get out of hand as Trump also did not. She undoubtedly knows calling for a mob to harass a politician has very high odds of violence but she did not request the violence. What would push back at someone eating dinner look like? Only with the thought police could you convict these people of the intent although it is easily assumed. One thing I realize about the assumption is that it is directly related to "what would I do". So when I tell a teenager to go get her I assume they hear "earn her affections". I realize to be a politician I'd have to be smarter than that because I am also speaking to a rapist. Maybe we chose dumb politicians or maybe we make the mistake of letting lawyers trained in the manipulation of words be politicians.
Now seeing how ball games, BLM and Trumpsters turn into riots we could shortcut to the obvious. People are animals and should not be allowed to gather. Any dictator past or present accepts this as fact, offers you no chance to behave, no benefit of the doubt, no respect as a higher thinking animal. That is called fascism.
The whole entire speech to the Trump crowd offers actual context that ends the story differently than you desire. There are plenty of politicians that possibly could or should lose their job over this type of activity. Plenty of them continue to support causes that have already turned to chaos and riots. Arguably their intent is transparent not condemning and distancing themselves. What is to be said of that except for what Trump said, "you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides." Alas that is not acceptable leaving us with only one side is good and it's my side. So there are not very fine people on both sides then. Condemning that comment absolutely supports the incident at the capitol does it not?
This game ends in war. That is the end of the story. The very fine people from all walks have come to accept this fate. Sadly peasants will fight and die in a battle for wealth and power that manipulated them to their death.

I'm not a Trump supporter. I'm trying to make sense of what happened. Or maybe I'm missing a key piece of info. Can someone answer me this: Trump tells a crowd of people something and they storm into the Capitol. He told them in public, so all the journalists and Democrats, FBI and netizens all heard it too, but none of them reacted. No one said "Trump is inciting violence" until a day after the Capitol was breached. Why didn't they know? Why were the Capitol police unprepared and the senators surprised? Was Trump's rally a secret meeting? Was he speaking in a secret code that only his followers understood?
note: Thumb down is not an answer. It just makes it appear more like senseless persecution. A story has to make sense.

Nothing Trump did was illegal or even unethical.
The responsibility for what happened belongs to the government agencies that lied to the American people about their being 'no fraud' in the election, the Press that decided to openly censor, cut off any broadcasting of the President's statements and call him a liar every time he publicly addressed election fraud, the courts which refused to even review his legally gathered and well presented evidence out of fear of even greater civil unrest with rioters already actively burning down cities, the decision to suppress the contents of the President's lawsuit released as a .pdf for all to read, and the refusal of the Press to even cover or address the grievances of those defrauded.
Trump did not directly call upon supporters to do anything other than PEACEFULLY gather in protest of the Electoral college certification which was obvious by the way they were initially greeted by Capitol police, some even taking 'selfies' with them. They were unarmed, (despite many of them being former military operators or hunters with long family hunting lineages and owners of assault rifles). They dressed up like Vikings, which clearly implies a news generating stunt designed to break through a Press blackout, NOT an 'insurrection.'
Things only got violent when the peaceful protesters were refused entry into the Capitol and an unarmed woman was shot in the head by a bureaucratic officer BEFORE she even gained access to the building. Understandably, things went sideways from there, but the one consistent agitator and instigator of the violence and unrest was government, NOT Donald Trump.

Many think that he deserves to be impeached but are wary of how constitutional it is to have the trial after he left office. This has never been tested before.
- Democrats moved on from the 2016 election years ago. Only delusional idiots still go on about Hillary anymore.
This is about stopping him from being able to run again and inflict more damage.
