Open up an account with Fidelity and do your banking through the internet. Get some credit cards and use them instead of cash and get 2% back for using the card. The rare paper check is deposited by an ap using the camera feature of your iPhone. And you have a regular checkbook where you can write checks. You get cash at a local ATM and they pay the transaction fee. Likewise you have a vast choice of other accounts to position your savings in. And, they keep all of the tax records. All you have to do is tell turbo tax to go get the information and your tax is computed automatically and hopefully honestly.
