No I know Americans who do, and Craig Charles once said he went into a shop in NY where they had Red Dwarf on the tv

I prefer Japanese cartoons to Western ones but then, Japanese specialise in that.

No
If it was, I wouldn't have had to listen to people boast about this for the last forty some years.
What is weird is the way such people as yourself will champion really terrible shows just because they're foreign as if an accent somehow makes the East Enders any less of a crappy soap opera.

It isn't weird at all. I am an Aussie man who likes all those old British sitcoms and comedies better than some of the American sitcoms.
My favourite is Open All Hours, Monty Python, George & Mildred, The Benny Hill Show, Ripping Yarns, Bless This House, Man About The House, The Young Ones, and many more.

No not at all. My fiance likes black adder, kids are alright, monty python, and that other show with the tall guy who replaced Q in die another day. Not sure the show but it takes place in a hotel.

not at all- I have for enjoyed British comedy since about 1974.
It took a few years to "Get" all the references but but on the whole I prefer it.
UK Panel shows & BBC Radio 4 podcasts have been helping through this covid thing plus I have a large dvd/cd library.

That's good, that's good! A nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat! Snap snap, grin grin, wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more.
