A spherical shell of radius 2.8 m is placed in a uniform electric field with magnitude 3540 N/C.

Find the total electric flux through the shell.

Answer in units of N · m2/C.

    The net flux through the shell is zero.  In one side and out the other!

    If you care how MUCH goes in one side and goes out the other, the answer is the same as if the field were going in one end of a cylinder of radius 2.8 m.  So it's (3540 N/C)*(pi)*(2.8 m)^2

    = 87200 Nm^2/C.
