When u attend special events do u buy new clothes or do u head to ur wardrobe and wear something u already have. ?

I have one good black dress for serious occasions, 2 good dresses for fancy parties, and one job interview suit. All of it travels well. I can't imagine what I would ever need to buy a new dress for. 

I try to wear something that I have. I found it's not worth it to spend money on a one-time wear and would rather invest in a really good cashmere sweater or coat that I'll wear a lot.

I do a bit of both, only my shopping trip is to a fabric store rather than a clothing store. If this is a short-notice thing then I'll look to my closet and see what I can use and what can be re-worked into something new looking. It could be as simple as adding sleeves to a blouse and wearing it with a skirt that I've worn many times.  If I have some time I'll get a fabulous fabric and make a dress in a simple silouhette. Of I have a lot of time -like the wedding coming up in one year, then I have time to design and make something special. It really depends on the event and how excited/enthusiastic I am about it. 

I dont attend special events. If you dont want someone showing up in shorts and flip flops then dont invite me.
