How to resist temptation to eat sweets when my husband is a sugar freak?

I’m trying to cut down on sweets and eat healthier to lose a few pounds, but my husband won’t cooperate! He is practically addicted to sugary foods/drinks, and when I don’t oblige him and buy him cookies, cake, candy, etc, he gets angry and says I’m trying to control him. He has high cholesterol and is also a few pounds overweight, and refuses to give up unhealthy foods/sweets to get healthier and lower his cholesterol. I am weak and also love sweets! When they’re not easily accessible, I can avoid them, but when they are sitting out on the counter where I see them every time I walk by, I get weak and eat them. How can I resist temptation to eat unhealthily when the foods/sweets are always available?

It's an addiction,  but sweets are the added sugars that you are aware of.   51% of the problem is hidden in foods you thought safe.
