"Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect (Matt 5:48).  For real? How?

Update:

@GHOST

SINCE TODAY'S CHRISTIANS HAVE NO (((POWER))) TO BECOME THE SONS OF GOD" (JOHN 1:12-13) RECEIVED AFTER HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM (ACTS 1:5;8) THAT'S PRECISELY WHAT GOD IS SAYING TO YOU AND THE OTHER TODAY'S CHRISTIANS

Update 2:

@Yet

"as little children" means being susceptible to "the Spirit of Christ that dwells within us" (Romans 8:9) after "Jesus baptizes us with the Holy Ghost" (John 1:33; Acts 1:5) and we "receive (((POWER))) [Acts 1:8] to become the sons of GOD" (John 1:12-13).

Update 3:

@  K

"I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine" (John 17:9).

"But as many as received Him, to them gave He (((POWER))) [Received after Holy Spirit baptism; Acts 1:5;8] to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:

Which were born ["Again" John 3:5-7; I Peter 1:23], not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of GOD" (John 1:12-13).

Update 4:

@BJ

Why would Jesus LIE if we can't be PERFECT?

Even Paul said "...as many of you that be PERFECT"  (Philippians 3:15).

Since "NO ONE is PERFECT but GOD" (Psalm 18:30), how do you believe we become PERFECT?

You people being "DEAD spirits" (Rm 5:12`-14) who have NOT been QUICKENED back to life (Eph 2:1) by His (((POWER))) that comes upon us after Holy Spirit baptism (Acts 1:5;8) how can you LOVE anyone when "the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts (((BY))) the Holy Ghost" (Rm 5:5)?

Update 5:

BJ, When Jesus said "Love your enemies" He means to TELL THE TRUTH IN LOVE (Ephesians 4:15).

“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:” (Eph 4:15)

Update 6:

Which is what I do every day and why people HATE ME!

Update 7:

@Other sheep

Why do you continue to CLING to a DO NOTHING water baptism when you know good and well there's ONLY "one baptism" (Ephesians 4:5)?

You have to LEARN to follow Scripture in this case into Acts 11:15-16 when "As Peter began to speak the Holy Ghost fell on them [and] (((THEN))) he (((REMEMBERED))) what Jesus said in Acts 1:5 and repeated (((VERBATIM)))

NEW REVELATION sent into the world and if people don't receive they'll continue to believe in TWO baptisms (Eph 4:5)

Update 8:

@Jake

When comparing THE TRUTH to THE LIES the LYING pedophile (((ROME))) ***MAN*** MADE so called 'catholic church' has taught for 2000 years, of course THE TRUTH seems to be "heresies" to those who have been BRAINWASHED by their (((CULT)))

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 14:12).

    The term "perfect" rules out the question "in what way?". "Perfect" means "in every way".

    It's not so much a result of anything we "do" or "have", but consequence of what we 'are' and have 'become', in which "doing and having" follow.  Christ said, "ye are gods", and, "the Kingdom of God is within you".  You cannot remove the 'Source of Origins' from a person, place or thing.

    The identification with ego is what impairs human judgement; thus Jesus said, "Judge no lest ye be judged.  By the judgment you pass shall passed on you, and by the measure you apply shall be applied to you".  The identification with our divine essence is the absence of ego, and all is seen without preconceived notions.

    What remains is all there ever is, or could possibly be, which is the 'perfection of all existence'.

    Practice makes perfect.  We don't have to succeed overnight, or even necessarily in this life.  But we do have to try.

    In this case, the word "perfect" was translated from a word that can also mean complete or mature.

    Acts 2:38

    Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

    Jesus sums up this portion of his sermon, saying: “You must accordingly be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matt 5:48

     Obviously, he does not mean that people can be fully perfect.

    Is it really possible for us to be perfect, as our heavenly Father is perfect? Yes, in a relative sense.

    Jesus was here discussing the subject of love, and he told listeners to imitate God and be perfect, or complete, in their love. (Matt. 5:43-47) How? By expanding it to include their enemies.

    It says in the Bible that you have to be as little children in order to see heaven.  Because the spirits of little children have not been corrupted, they are able to see (and live) the heaven in life.  They are whole; they are who they really are, as animals also are.  This is a kind of perfection, and that's what the verse is talking about.  Most adults, on the other hand, have "fallen" into another state, living the hell in life.  They have become enslaved by the mind, by that voice inside our heads that talks to us every moment and that comes between us and our experience so that we aren't really living our lives anymore but rather going through life on automatic pilot.
