Would it be acceptable for a culture that lacks in wealth and prosperity to adopt values from other (more successful) cultures?

Wealth? Prosperity? Successful?

How do you define those things? Don't you think being happy and healthy is more important?

You mean like southern culture adopting the values of literally any culture on earth...any one of them. The whole "vote republican or die" culture hasn't turned them into anything other than a complete joke.

"I have been young and now I am old,

Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken

Or his descendants begging bread.

"All day long he is gracious and lends,

And his descendants are a blessing.

"Depart from evil and do good,

So you will abide forever." (Psalm 37:25-27). 

That's how prosperity works.
