What is the closest place I can drive to right now that is not destroyed by this weather?  I'm in Texas.?

    New Orleans or maybe Lake Charles or Lafayette. Wet and cold with a few snow flurries according to my closest friend on the west Bank in English Turn Orleans parish. Her sister in law in Katy,  Texas south west of Houston got several inches of snow.

    Just leave Texas. Other states follow national regulations when designing their energy systems.

    Southern California - 1500 miles west.  (If you are Houston - 700 miles if you are in El Paso.)
