Ketogenic diet?

How can I tell if I’m in ketosis im a 5”8 female that weighed approx 175 pounds had a healthy BMI I have never been over weight, but my weight also due to my endometriosis and after the depo shot which helps treat endo by thinning out the tissue I started shedding pounds quickly. I felt like a new person. Two weeks after I soon started keto and now I’m like 150.6 how to tell if I’m in ketosis? I’ve been eating 25 or under 25g net carbs per day? Is this a good amount to get into ketosis?

The ONLY way to know for sure if you are in ketosis to to test yourself a couple of times a day. There are urine test strips, breath analyzer devices, and finger-prick tests.

Most people on a keto diet do not bother with this level of detail.  A level of 20g net carbs is probably more likely to create ketosis, but a lot depends on  what you eat and if you spread those 20 grams across the day or eat a cookie.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about ketosis.  Focus on the goals that brought you to that eating plan.  Pay attention to health markers: energy, mental clarity, BMI, sleep quality, lack of hunger, reduction in symptoms, and improved nutrition. Ultimately, your goal isn't ketosis but health and vitality, right?

The easy way is to get some test strips at your local drug store or supermarket. You test them by holding them in your urine stream and watch the color change. 25 net carbs or under is likely to put you into ketosis (the Atkins diet phase I calls for 20 or under, in order to get people into ketosis).

FYI, it's not a healthy place to be for long. There are better ways to lose weight than carb restriction. Your body has a use for carbs and starving it of them, can lead to issues. Carbs are not the enemy.

You aren't in ketosis. Most people who do those diets never are.

The doctors you're working with should be closely monitoring you, due to how dangerous this diet is.  They should be doing regular blood work, and this is what will tell you what's going on.  Call and ask about the latest test results.
