Did you know the end result of all Trumps hot air about china was that chinese imports rose under Trump and US exports fell?

Sorry, that's the reality of all his talk of "getting tough on china". But I guess a lot of you fell for it, huh?

Yup! And companies like us, who have to order components for our products from China because they are not available in the US, WE had to pay the tariffs. 25%!! China NEVER paid the tariffs!! Trump LIED to his sycophants that China paid billions in tariffs, when they paid a total of a great big 0!! Small businesses paid them - those of us who aren't big enough to build our own factories to produce a small component... geesh!

While true that we need to repatriate production of medicine/PPE & other general production it is UNTRUE that "the entire economy for a pandemic for months" was shut down.

While GDP in Q2 2020 was the steepest decline on record it was less than 10% (9.1). That's FAR from "entire".

The real end result of 45's hot air was an increase in cost of Chinese goods to U.S. consumers (a sort of tax on imports that WE pay NOT China!) & a HUGE loss of U.S. agricultural exports & resultant bailouts to farmers (in the hopes of keeping rural votes) that TAXPAYERS paid for .

Scams all the way around - 45's stock in trade (along with lies!).

That's partly because the US depends on China and other countries for our medicines and PPE almost entirely.  That has to change.  When you close down the entire economy for a pandemic for months, what exactly do you expect will happen?
