For Seattle residents - what did upping the minimum wage to $15 really do?

Personally, I think it's ridiculous to think a federal minimum wage hike this drastic would have a good outcome. But, today I read an article claiming $15 has been good for Seattle. People who are there, is that true?

I live in the next county, so I don't know specifics, but I would note that the Seattle area has higher wages and cost of living in general, so I would recommend caution in trying to apply what does and doesn't work in the Seattle economy, to other parts of the country.

Of course it's good. It means that people have more money to spend, which boosts the economy, and they are less reliant on food stamps and other forms of aid, which saves the state money. Why do you think it's reasonable for someone to work 40 hours a week and still need food stamps to survive? Is that the kind of society you want to live in?

Here you go: "Seattle has seen the job market increase by 2.6% over the last year. Future job growth over the next ten years is predicted to be 43.8%, which is higher than the US average of 33.5%."
